March 17, 2020
First and foremost, we hope this finds you all doing well. As we all must do these days, we find it necessary to address concerns about the Coronavirus pandemic and the effect it will have on the operation of Sky Line Lodge and Conejos Cabins in 2020.
Of utmost concern is the size and number of effects this situation brings to all our futures. At this point, it is a mystery to us, and we are cautiously hopeful that normal operations for the 2020 season can continue. We want to open and close on our normal schedules. We want everyone to be able to travel and to enjoy their scheduled vacation. However, we realize that this will probably not be a normal year, and we will need to adjust to a ‘new normal’ as we all endeavor to stay healthy and to protect our loved ones.
Without question, our operations will align with mandates from local, state, and federal governments. Additionally, we will follow all CDC guidelines and recommendations.
As time passes and as our best course of action is determined, we will communicate our status to you. We hope the best for all of you. Our ultimate goal this year is to keep all guests and employees safe and healthy and to provide our customers with another great vacation experience in Platoro.
Take care of yourselves.
Mark and Beverly Jaffe, owners of Sky Line Lodge and Conejos Cabins, invite you to come to historic Platoro, Colorado and get started on one of your best vacations ever. Take your pick of more than 20 rental cabins, situated right on the Conejos River.
Platoro is one of the last natural and unspoiled vacation destinations in Colorado. Nestled in the San Juan Mountains of southern Colorado, Platoro started out as a boomtown in the late 1800’s following the discovery of large deposits of gold and silver in the area. Even today, you can still find plenty of gold and silver in the Conejos River valley.
We hope you will book your adventure now to enjoy one of the premier summer vacation spots in the Colorado High Country. Enjoy world class trout fishing in the Conejos River, Platoro Reservoir, or one of the pristine high mountain lakes. Hike or ride your ATV in the most beautiful scenery imaginable. You can also pan for gold, watch for shooting stars, photograph numerous species of birds and wildlife, or just relax on the porch with a book and breathe in the clean mountain air. Bigfoot sightings abound in the Conejos valley, so be prepared.
